Open date Albania has conducted a research on the number and geographical setting of the Religious Schools in the non-public institutions of the pre-university system. These educational institutions operate based on the Council of Ministers Decision.

In total, for the academic year 2011-2012 in country operate 580 non-public institutions of the pre-university system, approved by the Council of Ministers Decision, Ministry of Education and Science Order or licensed by the the National Licensing Center.

According to the official data of the Ministry of Education and Science in country operate 14 Religious Institutions.These non-public pre-university institutions have been approved by the Councils of Minister Decision. Religious Schools constitute 2.41% of the total number of the non-public schools of the pre-university system. They are located in major cities like Tiranë, Durrës, Shkodër, Korcë, Elbasan, Berat, Kavajë.
