According to the official data of the Ministry of Education and Science the total number of the non-public institutions of the pre-university system in the country is 580. These institutions are of different cycles of studies. They consist of kindergartens, basic schools, gymnasiums and other types of complementary education institutions, professional or religious. In country operate 188 kindergartens, 195 basic schools and 146 gymnasiums of the non-public institutions of pre-university system.

Also in the country have been approved and operate complementary education institutions, religious or professional schools destined for certain categories of education. In total this group consists of 51 institutions.
