While term deposits are those deposits, where for the money deposited a certain maturity term is pre-determined.

In a long stretch of time, demand deposits recorded an annual growth in the years 2009 to 2015. Previous to this period, deposits suffered significant fluctuations, primarily due to the existence of pyramidal schemes or the perception of citizens towards the banking system. This was also testified by the fact that during 1993-2015, the situation was largely in favor of term deposits.
