The average monthly wage per employee in the private and public sectors

Open Data Albania has conducted a research work on the average monthly wage per employee in the private and public sectors during the past 10 years, based on a dataset from INSTAT (Albanian Institute of Statistics).

The following figure shows how the average wages have changed for different sectors of the economy in Albania:

As it can be seen from the figure, the average monthly wage is higher in the transportation and communication sector (39,800 ALL), followed by the industrial sector (39,433 ALL), trade (37,200 ALL) and construction (36,200 ALL). In 2009, an increase in the average monthly wage can be noticed compared to the previous year: 23% for the industry sector, 21% for the construction sector, 16% for the trade sector and 15% for transport and communications sector.
